2027 Youth Tour

Each year, students are selected from REC’s service territory to join the Virginia Maryland and Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives (VMDAEC) on a once in a lifetime tour of Washington, D.C. to attend Youth Tour and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association's (NRECA) Youth Tour Day.
Youth Tour 2027 is planned for June 19-23, 2027.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TO ASSIST YOU WITH YOUR APPLICATION:
Eligibility: Are you a current high school junior with big dreams and a passion for making a difference? If your family receives electricity from Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC), this opportunity is calling your name.
Application Period: September 1, 2026 - January 31, 2027
Letter of Recommendation: Please note a letter of recommendation is required through this online application and must be received by the application deadline of January 31.
Letter to Representative: As part of this online application you will be asked to write a letter (350 words or less) addressed to an elected official about an issue of importance to you.
You can save a draft of your work if you would like to finish filling out the form at a later date.
Selection Period: Students will be notified by the end of February of their selection status and to confirm their attendance if selected.
